A name rooted in family

Pammy’s Ice Cream began with a simple observation, a leap of faith, and a name with a very special meaning. Pammy’s is proudly named in honor of our founder’s late grandmother, Pamela Berrios, whose memory is carried forward through the business and everything we’re building.

After living across the street from what would eventually become our storefront, our founder saw an empty space—and an opportunity to bring something special to Downtown Cleveland. As a young minority woman and first-time ice cream maker, she took a chance, purchased an American-made Emery Thompson batch freezer, and began building Pammy’s from the ground up.

Today, we make our ice cream fresh in-house with one goal: quality you can see and taste. We believe that if we say pistachio, you should taste real pistachio. If we say ube, we use real ube paste. We start with a premium 15% ice cream mix and choose high-quality ingredients rather than cutting corners with artificial substitutes.

And we love our ice cream loaded. Our signature flavors are filled with generous pieces of real cakes, pies, cookies, and other desserts. We proudly source many of those desserts from local businesses, including Cleveland’s Slices Fabulous Cakes, incorporating favorites like cheesecake, carrot cake, red velvet cake, and apple pie into our creations. We also partner locally for specialty desserts such as banana pudding.

That commitment to freshness goes beyond the ice cream. Our chocolate chip cookies are made from scratch, and our shop serves handcrafted milkshakes, classic root beer floats, and a selection of drinks to complete the experience.

Pammy’s is also proud to be a small, woman-owned business that creates opportunities for young women, including first jobs for employees as young as 16. We want their time at Pammy’s to be about more than earning a paycheck. Our goal is to teach responsibility, confidence, customer service, and practical skills they can carry with them long after they leave us.

And we couldn’t have chosen a more special place to call home. Pammy’s is located in the heart of Downtown Cleveland and connected to the historic Arcade Cleveland. Opened in 1890 and known for its breathtaking glass skylight and Victorian architecture, The Arcade is one of Cleveland’s most iconic landmarks.
